Why didn't your Thanksgiving Turkey Burger win the 2002 National Cattlemen's Beef Association Build-a-Better Burger cook-off?

While it was a top-ten finalist in the alternative burger category,  my burger lost to a 1,200 calorie shrimp-and-corn burger made by a woman who baked her own challah rolls, and had them shipped 3,500 miles to the fairgrounds in a suitcase. The odds were against me from the start.
